About Gaming License Lab
Gaming License Lab started in a compliance office in Malta in 2016. Not as a grand vision - as a frustrated response.
Our founder, Jake Torres, spent 8 years watching gaming startups hemorrhage cash on licensing consultants who knew the theory but had never actually sat through a gaming commission interview. Consultants who'd copy-paste the same application template for Curacao that failed in Malta. Advisors who disappeared when the regulator asked tough questions about financial projections.
The pattern was depressingly consistent: founders with solid concepts, real capital, and genuine ambition - dead in the water because they trusted the wrong people at the critical licensing stage.
What We Actually Do
We're not a law firm that dabbles in gaming. We're former compliance officers, ex-regulator staff, and operators who've launched 40+ licensed casinos across 12 jurisdictions. That means:
- We know what regulators actually read in applications (hint: it's not your mission statement)
- We've sat on both sides of licensing interviews - as applicants and as commission advisors
- We maintain direct relationships with gaming commissions in Curacao, Malta, Gibraltar, and Isle of Man
- We've debugged payment processor rejections, fixed KYC systems that failed audits, and restructured corporate entities to meet solvency requirements
Our Licensing Philosophy
Licensing isn't a transaction - it's a relationship. Gaming commissions don't just evaluate paperwork; they assess character, competence, and long-term viability. They want operators who'll still be compliant in year five, not just on launch day.
That's why we don't take every client. We turn down projects with unrealistic budgets (under $150K total for regulated markets), founders who want "creative" AML policies, or operators planning to launch without proper tech infrastructure.
Why? Because our reputation with regulators is our only real asset. When we submit an application, commissions know it's been vetted. That credibility cuts 3-4 months off typical approval timelines.
The Team Behind Your License
Our core team of 12 includes:
- 3 former gaming commission compliance officers (Malta, Curacao, UK)
- 2 corporate attorneys specializing in gaming entity structures
- 4 technical auditors for platform/RNG compliance
- 3 operational consultants (payment systems, AML, customer verification)
We don't outsource critical work. When you hire Gaming License Lab, you get our A-team - not junior associates learning on your dime.
Our Track Record
Since 2016:
- 42 successful casino licenses obtained (Curacao, Malta, Gibraltar, Isle of Man)
- $847M in total client funding rounds (post-licensing)
- Zero license revocations among clients (industry average: 8%)
- Average time to license: 89 days (vs. 6-12 months industry standard)
Those numbers matter because licensing is binary: you're either approved or you've wasted 6 months and $200K. We don't do mediocre applications.
Why Gaming License Lab Exists
Honest answer? Because the gaming licensing industry is full of grifters charging $80K to file paperwork you could download yourself.
We built Gaming License Lab to be what we needed when we were on the operator side: a partner who knows regulators personally, has actually launched casinos, and stakes their reputation on your success.
If you're serious about building a legitimate, long-term gaming operation - not a quick offshore cash grab - let's talk.
